Mini Jib DIY Project – Just prior to departing on production for our recent corporate video project “Trans Hex” I decided that it would be a good idea to give a DIY mini jib construction a crack. After digging around the web and looking at various options I decided that I liked the look and simplicity of Olivia Speranza’s version seen here on vimeo.
Price wise in the end it cost a lot more that the quoted 25 USD but I’m really happy with the results and the jib has proved invaluable in the field. Its small, relatively light weight and was a huge asset to have on the subsequent shoots. I’m pretty keen to build on what I learnt making the first one and to add some tweaks here and there, but its a solid, easy to make job and definitely worth a shot.
